How do you get a Dubai Properties move permit?
Apply through RealConnect — Dubai Properties' community management app and web portal. Create an account, complete the move-in or move-out request, upload your documents and add your moving company. Once approved, you receive the permit and book a service lift or gate pass.
The permit ties together proof you are a legitimate resident and a booked moving slot. It is issued per move, so a move-out needs its own request even if you applied for a move-in before.
What documents does Dubai Properties require?
The RealConnect application asks for your personal details and a short document set — having it ready is what gets the permit issued inside the two-day window:
- Emirates ID — front and back.
- Ejari (tenancy contract, all pages) and a passport copy with visa page.
- Moving company details for the crew and vehicle.
- Cleared service charges and utility bills — outstanding charges are the usual reason a move-out permit is delayed.
Once approved, you book the service lift for towers such as JBR or arrange a gate pass in the villa communities.
How long does a Dubai Properties permit take?
Dubai Properties is usually quicker than most developers — often issued within about two business days of a complete RealConnect application. Submit at least two business days before your planned move, and make sure service charges and utilities are clear first.
Even with a fast turnaround, apply when you start preparing the property — one to two weeks before handover — so the permit, the service-lift slot and the restoration all land on the same date rather than stacking up on moving day.

Some individual communities may hold a small refundable deposit against common-area damage during the move. It varies by community, so confirm the current requirement on RealConnect before you move — and if a deposit applies, keep the receipt to reclaim it after the post-move check.
