Bathroom Waterproofing

Survey first · fixed quote in 24h

  • Leak diagnosis — membrane, drain or pipe — before any tiles come up
  • Removal of tiles and screed in the wet area where needed
  • Corner and joint reinforcement with tape or fabric

Sound familiar?

  • The neighbour below says water is coming through their ceiling.
  • The wall outside the shower is damp, stained or the paint is bubbling.
  • Grout keeps cracking and the tiles near the drain sound hollow.
  • There's a musty smell and black mould along the skirting.
  • We regrouted and resealed, but the leak came back.

Every one of these has a lasting fix — once the source is found.

The Survey

What we check before quoting bathroom waterproofing

Most failed waterproofing jobs treated the stain, not the source. These are the points we check on every survey before we recommend a system or a price.

Shower tray & floor membrane

Whether there is a membrane under the tiles at all, and whether it is continuous — most bathroom leaks are a missing or broken layer, not bad grout.

Floor drain & waste connections

The membrane must lap into a clamped drain flange. A gap here sends shower water straight under the tiles and into the slab.

Wall-to-floor corners & niches

Corners, shower niches and the floor-to-wall joint reinforced with tape or fabric, because these joints move and crack first.

Pipes vs. membrane

We pressure-test the supply pipes too, so we know whether the water is from the shower or a leaking pipe in the wall before quoting.

The Scope

What's included

One fixed quote covers the full system for this service — preparation, membrane, details and testing — with no line-item creep once work begins.

  • Leak diagnosis — membrane, drain or pipe — before any tiles come up
  • Removal of tiles and screed in the wet area where needed
  • Corner and joint reinforcement with tape or fabric
  • Two-coat cementitious or PU membrane on floor and shower walls
  • Drain flange and pipe penetrations sealed into the membrane
  • 24–48 hour flood test before tiling
  • Retiling and anti-mould grouting on full redo jobs
How It Works

From first photo to flood-tested

Start with photos on WhatsApp. We confirm the source, quote one fixed price and prove the finished work before handing it back.

  1. Photos on WhatsApp

Send photos of the bathroom and the leak below. We tell you whether it looks like the membrane or a pipe.

  2. Diagnosis & fixed quote

Moisture readings and a pipe pressure test pinpoint the source, then one fixed quote within 24 hours.

  3. Strip, tank & detail

Tiles lifted where needed, corners reinforced and the membrane applied wall-to-floor.

  4. Flood test & retile

Flood-tested before tiling, then retiled and handed back with photos — and we come back if it leaks again.

Questions

Bathroom Waterproofing FAQs

The questions Dubai and Sharjah owners ask us most about this service.

Typical 2026 rates are AED 900–1,800 per bathroom for membrane only — floor & shower walls, tiles already removed; AED 3,500–7,500 per bathroom for full redo — strip tiles, membrane, flood test, retile. The price depends on the bathroom size, whether tiles must be removed and the tile you choose, and is fixed after diagnosis.

A clear penetrating sealer or epoxy regrout can slow minor seepage through grout, but it cannot replace a missing or broken membrane under the tiles. If water is reaching the flat below, the lasting fix is to lift the tiles in the wet area and tank it properly — we tell you honestly which one your bathroom needs.

A pipe leaks all the time, whether or not the shower is used; a failed membrane leaks mainly after showers. We confirm it with a pipe pressure test and moisture mapping before quoting, so you never pay to retile a bathroom when the fault was a pipe.

A typical bathroom takes three to five working days including the flood test and retiling. Membrane-only jobs on an already-stripped bathroom are shorter. We confirm the timeline in your quote.

Yes. Kitchens, laundry rooms, maid's-room bathrooms and any wet area with a floor drain get the same tanked membrane and flood test.

Every rain makes a leak worse. Fix it properly, once.
